My daughter is such a sweetheart she always is snapping pictures for me. She took this picture while she was away with friends for a couple of days. This picture is from the view of the hotel she stayed at. Isn't it gorgeous? She takes pretty good pictures eh!

Bikini Time

Summer is half over but just because you haven't lost all the weight you wanted to fit into that swimsuit don't let that get you down. There is still plenty of time to lose some weight before summer is over. There are lots of different options to help you lose weight. You can eat healthier, start exercising, go on a diet or purchase the best weight loss pill you can find at your local drugstore or supermarket. The point is there is a lot of options out there, you just have to find the best one for you.

Supporting The Cause

Both of my parents died of cancer. Raising cancer awareness is a very important thing that we all should support. There are many different types of cancer that you can help to raise money for treatment and a cure. People suffering from breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and other cancers like malignant Mesothelioma all need you help. You can help by raising awareness, and by donating time and money to help with cancer research. This is a very important cause and I hope you all will do you part.

I really am terrible at taking pictures of fireworks. I always end up missing them, but I did get this shot of one going up in the air before it exploded. It kinda looks like a rocket doesn't it? My sister bought a box of fireworks for the kids and handed them to me. Why she handed them to me I have no idea. Hubby set them off while I tried to take pictures of them. There are some things I just don't do. I don't shovel the drive way, I don't take the garbage out, and I don't set off fireworks. Sure, I could do all those things if I wanted to, but I prefer not to. Me and my husband have an arrangement. I don't ask him to bake and he doesn't ask me to install industrial hand wheels. Our system works for us.

Tight Jeans

The hot trend this summer is jeans, tight jeans. They come in a wide variety from black (Cameron Diaz), tye-dyed (Fergie), and white ripped (Katie Holmes).

I must admit they look good on the skinny celebrities, but I'm afraid my booty is a little too big for skin tight pants.

1.What is one thing that will put a great big ole smile on your face? My kids!

2.Your walking down the street toward a very familiar face. As you get closer you realize you do not remember this persons name at all. Do you speak with the chance that they'll want to stop and chat or do you pretend that you don't see the person? Sure I would say hi, and hopefully after talking to them a bit I would finally remember their name.


3. Are you the Rock or the sponge of your household? Definitely a rock.

4. You have gone over to a friends for dinner. You look down at your plate and notice a great big ole hair hanging out from inside your sandwich. What do you do? I wouldn't eat it, but if there was other people there also I wouldn't mention it, I would just pretend I wasn't hungry.

5. If you HAD to name one....who would you say is your role model? My father. He was a kind and caring man that was a friend to everyone.

6. Have you raised children? if so do you think your parenting skills were top notch or could have used a little help from Dr Phil? I think I'm a pretty good parent and I've had others ask me for advice.


7. Would your -(Past or present)- mate/spouse, significant other/whatever -say that living with you has been like a gentle breeze or more like a hurricane? Hubby is definitely a gentle breeze. He's a big teddy bear. I've only heard him really get mad once in 17 years.

8. When you shop at the grocery store, do you always shop exactly by a list or just go helter skelter and hope that you get home with most of what you need? I always come home with what I need, the problem is I usually come home with lots extra.

Blogging Questions

I've been blogging for a couple of years now and currently I run two blogs, this one and Mom Knows Everything. In the past people have asked me lots of questions about blogging. The main question that I've been asked is how to attract traffic to their website. The two things I tell them is list their blogs in as many directories list as possible and to visit lots of other blogs to let people know about theirs. The traffic may take a little while to get there, but it really does work.

Just Because He's Hot

I love the television show Criminal Minds, but for some reason I always have trouble concentrating on what they are saying whenever Shemar Moore's character comes on screen. Hmmm....I wonder why?

Stressed

I find when I'm stressed that the best way to relax is by taking a long hot bubble bath. Fill up your bath tub, pour in lots of wonderful smelling bubble bath, light some candles, turn off the lights and turn on some relaxing music. Don't forget to lock the doors and turn on the
wireless alarms so you make sure you aren't interrupted. Hop in the tub and enjoy!

High School Cliques

I watched Big Brother 11 the other night and when they separated everyone into the four cliques , popular, athletic, brainy and offbeat, I got to thinking that isn't exactly the same names for cliques when I was in high school. Instead of the "popular kids" we had the "preps". We called the athletes "jocks". The "brainy" kids we called "nerds". The "offbeats", well we just called them "weirdo's". We did have another group though, it was called "others". This was more kids that just didn't fit into one of the four categories. Now that I think of it, the "others" are what I would just consider normal average kids. I was a prep back in high school. Yep, I had the pageboy hair cut, the penny loafers, and polo shirt. What cliques were you in?

Jon's New Woman

Smoky Eyes

I love having smoky eyes when I do my makeup. It looks great especially when it's for a night out. I've gotten lots of compliments from my friends about it. They also say that whenever they try to do it it doesn't turn out right, more like raccoon eyes then smoky eyes. I found this great how to video by Sephora on how to create a smoky eye.

Spider Lashes

I have very thin eyelashes and so I have to use mascara, but too much of a good thing isn't necessarily a good thing. What is with people like Kim Kardashian and their spider lashes? Seriously, way too much mascara. Apply one coat, let it dry, then if necessary put on another thin coat. Too much mascara makes your lashes look like spiders....I'm just saying.

How To Avoid Wrinkles

Nothing ages a person like wrinkles. There are somethings though that you can do to avoid wrinkles and help diminish the ones that you already have.
- Avoiding being in the sun and if you have to make sure you use a high SPF sunblock.
- Don't smoke. Smoking causes wrinkles!
- Get plenty of sleep.
- Avoid caffeine and high caffeine products like coffee and soda pop.
- Don't use harsh soaps on your face. It will dry it out and cause the wrinkles to look larger.
- Moisturize and use the best eye creams you can find that fit your skin type.
