She's Not Fat!

There is a lot of buzz going around about how the media is calling Jessica Simpson fat because of this photo.

I'm a little peeved about this. Firstly she is not fat, heck she doesn't even look that curvy in this photo! For the media to go on and on about how fat Jessica Simpson is basically telling all the women of the world that a size 2, which is what Jessica Simpson is, is fat. Okay maybe expectations of how stars are supposed to look are higher then the average person, but when the media say that this is fat do they not realize how many pre-teen and teen aged girls are reading that and thinking if Jessica Simpson is fat then I'm a whale. How are girls supposed to grow up with a healthy self-image if they are constantly being bombarded by the media telling them that they have to look anorexia or they are not attractive? I have a teen aged daughter and I know how fragile their self image can be. Trust me teen aged girls do not need any more pressure in their lives to look a certain way, they already have enough of that. Jessica Simpson may not be the smartest person, but calling her fat is doing the young girls of the world more harm then the media realizes.

Which Side Is the Tank On?

My SIL sent this little tidbit of useful information to me that I thought was great.



Have you ever driven a car and went to get gas, but was unsure which side the gas tank was on? It's pretty embarrassing to pull up beside the gas pumps only to discover it's on the other side of the car and you have to move the car. Well, here is a little trick to tell you which side of the car your gas tank is on. Just look at your gas gauge and you will find a little gas pump icon. Whatever side the hand sticks out on the icon is the side your gas pump is on.

Pretty neat little bit of useful information that I've never knew.

Okay I'm going to tell you about a feat I did today. Now this is my girlie blog where I talk about everything from fashion to Hollywood gossip to the best health diet products out there like Leptorexin. So, you probably think I'm a girlie girl. Well, sometimes I can be, but I'm not always girlie. I fish, I know how to use power tools, I can change the oil in my car, heck I've even changed an alternator and a muffler. Now I don't consider any of these things feats, but the un-girlie thing I did today I do consider a feat. My water pipes froze so I had to go under the house in the crawl space and help my husband look for frozen pipes. It was really dirty under there and really small. There was one section that was only about a foot clearance and I squeezed myself through there. Now squeezing "the girls" through there is what I consider a real feat considering the size of them.

I was wondering if you all could help me out here. I was going to change the water in my turtles tank and it was doing something really weird to the statue that was in the tank with it.

All Hail Coffee

It is so going to be one of those days!


I'm exhausted! I went to bed early last night, or at least I tried to, but my little guy kept waking up in the night crying. It took a while to get him back to sleep so I didn't get much sleep last night. When I got up this morning I spilled my coffee on my computer desk when I sat in my computer chair because evidently it broke last night when my daughter was using the computer, but forgot to tell me. Sigh, I am so going to be lots of coffee today. So anyone know where the best place to buy office furniture is because I need a new computer chair now.

Hangover Remedies

So how's your head? New Years Day is one of the biggest hangover days ever. I supposed I should have posted this yesterday, but here are some hangover remedies for you to try just in case you had a little too much to drink last night on New Years Eve.










Hangover Remedies

1. SLEEP - if at all possible try and sleep it off.

2. Water - drink lots and lots of water as alcohol dehydrates your body.

3. Vitamin C - take some vitamin C or drink some orange juice.

4. Sports Drinks - drink some Gatorade or similar types of sports drinks, but do not drink energy drinks as they are packed full of caffeine and caffeine will intensify your hangover.

5. Fresh Air and Exercise - taking a walk in the outdoors will definitely help you feel better.

One last tip for you, although some say "hair of the dog" will cure a hangover the only thing it's going to do is postpone the inevitable. You're still going to have a hangover as soon as that alcohol wears off.
