Last night I saw the movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and all I can say is WOW!

This movie stars Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button, a boy born an old man who as he ages gets younger.

The first thing I have to say about this movie is the visual effects are amazing! Brad Pitt as an old man looked extremely realistic.

This movie isn't just a fantasy movie, it's a love story and it is one that left me in tears at the end of the movie.

I personally think The Curious Case Of Benjamin Buttons is definitely going to be nominated for award for Brad Pitts performance.

If you like love stories and think Brad Pitt is hot then this is definitely a movie for you.

New Year Resolutions

New Years is almost upon us. This means just one thing...what resolutions are we going to make for the new year? Every year I make the same resolution as lots of women out there...to lose weight. I've actually lost about 10 pounds so far in the last two months, but I haven't lost any lately because of all the holiday goodies I've been eating. This year I'm going to try to not only lose weight, but eat healthier. This mean eating more fruits and vegetables and cooking the food I do eat differently. No more deep frying for me, instead I'm going to try healthy grilling.

Let The Gift Returning Begin

Now that Christmas is over it's the start of a new even more hectic time of year. No, I'm not talking about New Years, I'm talking about the "Returning/Exchanging of Christmas Gifts" season. Every year millions of people receive Christmas gifts that they exchange for some reason whether it be that it's the wrong size, color, type or just because the gift sucked.

This year I had to exchange four gifts. Three my daughters because they are the wrong size and one for my son because he got two of them. I was very surprised that I didn't have to wait in line that long to get the refund for them, but the lineup at the cashier to buy the replacements for the gifts was unreal.

Thank goodness this holiday is over. I love Christmas, but I think I almost like to see it leave as much as I like to see it come.

Lets Talk Tubs

There is nothing better then a hot relaxing bubble bath to wash away all your cares and worries. I love soaking in the bathtub on cold winter nights. I think all women love taking bubble baths. Seriously what is not to like, hot water, bubbles, quiet and relaxation? It sounds heavenly to me. I know I could definitely use a hot relaxing bubble bath after the stress of the holiday season. Trust me, if you're stressed, go run yourself a bubble bath. You'll thank me.

A lot of people don't realize that your bathroom is probably the second most common room in your home visitors see. Your bathroom says a lot about you and your style. Furnishing your bathroom isn't as easy as you might think. There isn't a lot of options on what you can do with it so in order to reflect your style and lifestyle you have to select the right bathroom furnishing. Your bathtub is probably the most important feature in your bathroom and they come in a variety of styles and sizes. You want your bathtub to match your style, but also to match your lifestyle. A lot of people use stand up showers. They are very efficient, but I prefer the old fashioned clawfoot tubs. I guess it's the romantic notion of claw foot bathtubs that appeals to me.

Another type of bathtubs I really like are the whirlpool bathtubs. Man are those things so relaxing! My husband often has a sore back from his job and he really wants us to get a whirl pool tub to help with his back pain.

A lot of my elderly relatives have changed from their old bathtubs to the new walk-in bathtubs. This is a really good idea for anyone who has problems getting up and down since the chance of falling or slipping is a lot lower with a walk-in bathtub.

If there is only one movie you see this holiday, it has to be Seven Pounds.

Seven Pounds is another movie triumph by Will Smith.

It is about one man attempt at redemption by changing the lives of seven people.

This movie ranks right up there with Will Smith's previous movie The Pursuit Of Happiness.

I watched this movie and in awe of Will Smiths acting ability and the story line. This definitely is one movie that I think deserves awards.

Getting Ready For The Big Day

We had a huge snow storm last night and it's still snowing outside. I thought today would be a great day to get some major cleaning done. I did the whole dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing floors and got out the Christmas dishes to be washed for Christmas supper. I can't believe it's only 3 more sleeps until Christmas. Tomorrow I have to make the pies for Christmas dinner and get all the last minute shopping done. What else do you have to do before Christmas?

Snow

It's going to snow. It's going to snow a lot! We're getting a snow storm this evening and over night. We are supposed to get 20 to 30 cm of snow. I have too much too do for it to storm. I have to take my daughter to confirmation class and help out with the play they are going to do on Christmas Eve, take my daughter to her friends house afterwards, and then go get groceries. Now don't get me wrong, I love a white Christmas, but is there anyway we can postpone the snow until after I have all my errands done?

Chocolate

My husband is a real sweetheart. He often brings me home Dove chocolates. I love them! They are so good and I love the little messages they have on the inside of the wrappers.

I know I shouldn't complain, but he is really going to have to stop bringing me home chocolates. I'm going to weight a ton if he doesn't. Maybe he should start bringing me home some diet pills instead of the chocolates. Nah! I would rather have the chocolates?

Yesterday I heard on the radio about a truck that went through a house. A friend of mine emailed a picture of the accident.


The house is on a very sharp turn and since it was raining the road was wet and slippery. Luckily no one was home at the time of the accident. What a terrible time of year to have your house destroyed.

Four Christmases

At this time of year I love watching holiday movies and the best ones are the comedy holiday movies. With the stress of the holidays everyone could use a laugh.

I recently watched Four Christmases and it was hilarious! It stars Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon as a couple who don't like spending time with their families let alone spending Christmas with them, but this year they get stuck into spending Christmas with them. Now, these families aren't the "normal" families, actually to some they might be considered the norm and that might be one of the reasons that this movie is so funny.

If you are looking for a funny holiday movie to watch then Four Christmases is a good bet.

Basically all you have to do is talk about one of your blogging friends. This week I'm going to talk about my BBFF Misty. Most of you may already have heard me talk about her, but I'm going to talk about her again because Misty means the world to me.

I met Misty over a year ago, actually it was August 27, 2007 that we first emailed each other. Ever since then we have grown to be such good friends that I consider her not only my BBFF, but also my best friend.

Misty is well know for her awesome photography skills. She runs the popular meme Camera Critters and two other blogs, My Dogs Keep Me Sane and Misty's Words.

Misty has been there for me when I need someone's shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with and someone to encourage me. She has defended me and stood up for me when I needed someone. She not only loves me for who I am, but she also loves my children. I consider meeting Misty a blessing and I am truly thankful for her friendship.

Computers

When I first started blogging I thought it would be easy. I have a degree in computers from college so I thought it would be a snap. Man has things changed a lot since then! Computers and everything to do with computers have become so advanced that I was totally lost. I didn't even know what a .zip File Extension was.

I felt kinda foolish asking my husbands friend how to open all these different File Formats, but luckily thanks to some smart friends I've learned a lot about computers in the past year. I even know how to change File Extensions.

Working with computers is a constant learning process. Sometimes it can be quite aggravating, but I enjoy it.

Snoopy VS The Red Baron

This is one of mine and my daughters favorite Christmas song, Snoopy VS The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen.



Every time it's we hear it we have to sing along with it. I think it's one of those classic Christmas songs that just brings back memories of your childhood. There is just something about Snoopy that every one loves isn't there.

Christmas Presents

Christmas is only a few weeks away. I've gotten almost all of my shopping done, but I haven't gotten my husbands "big" gift yet. I'm still not sure what to get him. I want to get him something he will really love, but I don't know what to get. This got me to thinking about what present I've gotten that I was my favorite. Oh course that was easy, it was my engagement ring my husband gave me. It was Christmas morning and he got down on one knee handed me the box and proposed. That will definitely be my most favorite present ever.

High Heels

High heels are one of women's best accessories. They make your legs look longer and thinner, but I must admit they sometimes hurt. I don't know how celebrities do it. They wear high heels all the time, take this picture here, this is Fergie. Look at the heels on these shoes! Wow, if I wore those shoes for any length of time I would end up with Plantar Fasciitis or a broken neck.


I wear heels a lot, especially high heeled boots. Do you wear high heels often?

Christmas Cleaning

Have you started your Christmas cleaning yet? I started it, but it seems like I haven't done anything yet. With a houseful of kids and pets I'm going to be constantly cleaning for Christmas right up until Christmas day. I got the bathroom done and part of the kitchen done, but I have to hit the playroom today and try to make some order to it. This involves cleaning out toy boxes and cleaning the carpet. What I wouldn't give for one of those Miele vacuum cleaners.

New Look

I'm finally done with my new template. What do you think? It took me forever to get it done. I kept having errors when I tried to save the template and after I finally fixed that I have to replace all my widgets in the sidebars that I lost in the transition from templates. I even added a snowflake background for Christmas and I made a new favicon. I think it turned out pretty good and it's going to be a long time before I change my templates again. Man that was a lot of work!

In Tongues Of The Dead - Book Review

I just finished reading In Tongues Of The Dead by Brad Kelln and all I can say is WOW! This book is amazing and hard to put down.

In Tongues Of The Dead is a suspenseful thriller that puts you to the mind of The DaVinci Code. I really enjoyed that book, but I think I might even like this book better because it's from a Canadian author with places in the book that I've actually been to.

In Tongues Of The Dead is basically about a 400 year old manuscript called the Voynich manuscript, which is actually a real thing, that is written in a language that no one has been able to decipher. I don't want to give too much away about the book, but I will tell you that the story involves murder, the Vatican, angels and an autistic child.

If you like The DaVinci Code then you will definitely like this book as well. I can't wait to read more from the author Brad Kelln.

Nine Words Women Use

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
8. Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

I think all women should print this list out, get one of those refrigerator magnets and stick to the fridge where their husbands will be sure to see it.
