Chick Flicks

Guess what was on TV last night? My favorite chick flick of all time, Sixteen Candles!

As I was watching it my daughter came out and she told me she has never seen it before. I was shocked! I think every teen-aged girl needs to watch Sixteen Candles, it's like a passage into womenhood.

They don't make chick flicks like they used to anymore, all my favorite chicks flicks are from the 80's. They do make some good chick flicks now a days, like 27 Dresses, but you can not beat the 80's for chick flicks.

Here's a list of my "Top Five Favorite Chick Flicks" of the 80's.

  1. Sixteen Candles
  2. Pretty In Pink
  3. The Breakfast Club
  4. Footloose
  5. Dirty Dancing
What's your favorite chick flick of all time?

Love the blog!! 5 of my favorite movies!!! Where we lived when I was young did not have cable, and we had a VCR. Footloose was one of the 5 movies we had. So, needless to say I have seen that movie well over 50 times!!!

Congrats on the new blog! Hmmm... yes, I think I liked Sixteen Candles, but I didn't like The Breakfast Club. Footloose and Dirty Dancing are among my favs too! :-) For some reason I can't recall Pretty In Pink. Hmmm, is it possible that my brain has stopped working? LOL!

I have 2 sons, no daughters, but I still insisted they watch Sixteen Candles and they liked it. I made a list on my blog of top teen movies from the 80s that parents should recommend to their teens (a similar list to yours). Why don't you take a look at http://connectwithyourteens.blogspot.com/2008/04/10-movies-to-recommend-to-your-teens.html
